Dan Kotowski (Park Ridge)
Senator Kotowski has served the 33rd District since 2007. He has focused his time on supporting the causes of a variety of groups, including women at risk for breast cancer, and veterans suffering from a lack of work and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He has also worked intently on increasing gun control measures throughout the state. Kotowski played a leading role in budget negotiations that resulted in a balanced budget that helped to offset cuts in federal spending.
Prior to becoming a senator, Kotowski spent time as the Vice President of Uhlich Children's Advantage Network as well as the Executive Director of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in English and communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana and later received his master's degree at DePaul University. Kotowski is currently residing in Park Ridge, Illinois, with his wife Anne, and they have two sons.
