Don Harmon (Oak Park)

Don Harmon has served the people of the 39th District since 2003. The Senator has focused his time on improving controlled substance laws and reforming procurement laws. As part of this effort, Senator Harmon co-chaired the bipartisan Procurement Committee, which reviewed new procurement reform laws and found adaptation methods that supported and stimulated research and business. He also passed House Bill 585 to guarantee available funding for RTA and PACE para-transit services, as well as passing House Bill 3184, which requires counties to charge the same fees for civil union licenses as it charges for marriage licenses.

Harmon graduated with his bachelor's degree from Knox College and later with master's degree from the University of Chicago. He lives with his wife Teresa and has three children.
