John Sullivan (Rushville)
Senator Sullivan has represented the 47th District since 2003 and has focused his efforts on a variety of issues, including economic development and agriculture. Sullivan actively advocated for the increased funding of agricultural programs and is very supportive of the development of crop-based fuels in order to help expand state agriculture. Sullivan was also passionate in his efforts to prevent the repeal of a state tax exemption on livestock feed and farm chemicals. He was instrumental in helping to design the first capital construction bill in 10 years, and has worked to improve transportation and bring economic development to Western Illinois.
Sullivan graduated with his bachelor's degree from Quincy College and currently resides in Rushville with his wife Joan and their four children.
