Linda Holmes (Aurora)

Senator Linda Holmes has served the 42nd District since 2007 and has focused on issues such as passing a comprehensive Capital Bill that would work to improve the regional infrastructure. She has improved the health care level of the people in her district by working to pass measures expanding medical coverage, including requiring insurers to cover autism spectrum disorders. She also worked hand-in-hand with Minority leader Tom Cross and Will County State attorney Jim Glasgow in a bipartisan effort to pass House Bill 233, in order to strengthen sentences for the most violent of domestic abusers, as well as increase battery sentences involving torture to a minimum of four years.

She graduated with her bachelor's degree from the National College of Education in 1984 and lives in Aurora, Illinois.
