Martin Sandoval (Chicago)

Senator Sandoval has represented the 12th District since 2003 and has focused on improving the transportation infrastructure of the state. His efforts have included both bringing in federal money for the repair of bridges and roads and expanding public transit systems, such as Amtrak, throughout the State. In addition to passing the first capital construction budget in over ten years, he has also helped to pass legislation banning or limiting cell phone use while driving and has also worked to cut the costs of higher education.

In addition to being a full-time senator, Sandoval also serves as the co-chairman for the Latino Caucus, a group of Latino senators and representatives who collectively work for the betterment of Illinois' Hispanic community. He graduated with his bachelor's degree from Loyola University and currently resides in Gage Park with his wife Marina and their three children.
