Mike Jacobs (East Moline)

Senator Jacobs has represented the 36th District since 2005, prior to which he served for six years as the downstate liaison to the Illinois Secretary of State. During his time in the legislature, he has focused on important tax issues and on increasing punitive measures against convicted sex offenders. He has also worked to support education by being a key player in the passing of legislation aimed at increasing funding to local schools and state universities.

Jacobs holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a master's degree in political science from the University of West Florida. He currently resides in East Moline, Illinois.
